Dawn + Mike: Edmonton, Alberta Wedding 2021

Dawn and Mike's wedding day was an extra special one for me. Not only have I known them for a decade, but my sister got to be a bridesmaid in their day!

In mid-September, the weather was similar to a beautiful summer day. The couple wanted a bit of fall foliage for their family photos, so I hunted around north Edmonton every day for a week leading up to their wedding. The magical spot for their family portraits ended up being on the side of the road in a tunnel of trees?! I'm sure there was a lot of hesitation as I motioned for the limo to park near the back of a hotel and guided them down the road. Trust is a huge part of a wedding day, and I am so fortunate that my couples trust me. We continued the adventure in the ᐄᓃᐤ (ÎNÎW) River Lot 11∞ Indigenous Art Park. The bright red berries added color to the greenery, and the light leaked through the trees perfectly. To finish the portraits, we went to the Walterdale Bridge to fulfill Mike's request for a hint of architecture in their photographs. We went to the Mirage Banquet Hall for the reception and boogied all night long.

It was a perfect day. Congratulations, Dawn and Mike! I'm excited to continue being a part of your big moments.
